POSITION

Trial Court Supervisor IV - Polk County Clerk of Court

Supervisor of Civil and Probate Divisions

40 hours per week / Benefits at Full-Time

SALARY

Pay Grade 29 - $50,481.60 to $76,793.60 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION

Graduation from an accredited high school plus the successful completion of two years post high school coursework at an accredited vocational / technical college, area community college or other two or four year educational institution and six years of experience in business management, government, legal or other closely-related area, two years of which is in an administrative or clerical capacity with a court preferred.

OR

At the option of the appointing authority the successful completion of post high school coursework at an accredited vocational / technical business college, area community college or other two-year or four-year educational institution may be substituted for the required experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty semester hours or the academic equivalent equals one year of experience.

OR

At the option of the appointing authority one year of responsible experience in accounting, accounts examination or verification, budgeting or closely-related fiscal experience with a governmental agency or in the private sector may be substituted for each year (thirty semester hours or the academic equivalent) of the minimum education requirements. Must be bondable.

Must have the ability to provide excellent customer service as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.

Ability to understand and learn complex computer systems utilized by the District Court.

Must have a valid Iowa driver's license.

DUTIES

The position will supervise the Civil and Probate Divisions (approximately16 staff) under the direct supervision of the Clerk of Court.

Performs a wide variety of responsible technical and administrative work. Performs other related work as required.

Learn and understand internal processes of the Polk County Clerk of Court's Office.

Work with internal and external entities associated with the District Court and form effective work relationships with various stakeholders, the public, judges and court staff.

Acquire and develop skills associated with electronic filing and document management systems. This also includes knowledge of external filer interfaces.

Work with the Administrative Team to create, document, and maintain departmental training materials, guides, and directives.
