Iowa Court Rules and Forms

The Iowa Supreme Court is responsible for prescribing all rules of procedure, pleadings, practice, evidence, and the forms of process, writs and notices, for all proceedings in the state courts. This section of the website contains a link to the Iowa Court Rules, copies of certain forms, and a list of amendments and new rules recently adopted by the court.

Iowa Court Rules

The printed version of the Iowa Court Rules is published by the Legislative Service Agency of the Iowa Legislature, under the direction of the Iowa Supreme Court. This part of the Judicial Branch web site is a link to a site maintained by the Legislative Service Agency. Because the Iowa Court Rules are subject to revision by the Iowa Supreme Court at anytime, you are encouraged to consult the official printed version of the rules.

Local Court Rules

Local rules are posted by district in the About the Courts section under District Courts. Not all districts have local rules.
