Iowa Court Rules and Forms
The Iowa
Supreme Court is responsible for prescribing all rules of procedure, pleadings,
practice, evidence, and the forms of process, writs and notices, for all
proceedings in the state courts. This
section of the website contains a link to the Iowa Court Rules, copies of
certain forms, and a list of amendments and new rules recently adopted by the
court.
Iowa Court Rules
The printed
version of the Iowa Court Rules is published by the Legislative Service Bureau
of the Iowa Legislature, under the direction of the Iowa Supreme Court. This
part of the Judicial Branch web site is a link to a site maintained by the
Legislative Service Bureau. Because the Iowa Court Rules are subject to
revision by the Iowa Supreme Court at anytime, you are encouraged to consult
the official printed version of the rules.
When using the following link, you can move directly to a specific
chapter of the court rules by clicking on the binoculars (Search) in the tool
bar, typing the name of the chapter in upper case (e.g. CHAPTER 6) and checking
the "Whole words only" box. A
search can also be performed using a key word, phrase or rule number.
