Location of courthouse and directions: Taylor County Courthouse, 405 Jefferson Street, Bedford,
Iowa. The courthouse is located
on the city square.
Take
Hwy. 2 to Bedford,
turn east at the four lane street (Hwy. 148) at the Casey's General Store and
go one block. You will see the courthouse on the north side of the street.
Courthouse hours: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through
Friday.

for jury service: Please
report to the Clerk's Office on the first floor of the courthouse to check in
before the trial begins.
What to wear to court:
Please report for jury service wearing respectable clothes. As a general rule, business or business
casual clothing is acceptable. The following
types of clothing are not suitable for court proceedings: shorts, tube tops, halter tops, clothing that
contains any obscene, suggestive or inflammatory print or images, and clothes
that are overly dirty or ragged.
Absences/Emergencies: Please telephone the clerk's office if

Travel, mileage and other expenses: Reimbursement will be paid at the end
of your term of service. Jurors are reimbursed for travel to and from residence
to the courthouse at a rate approved by the supreme court. For specific questions, please call 1- 712-523-2095.
Compensation:
Pursuant to state law, you will be paid $30 a day for each day of jury
service up to seven days; $50 a day for eight or more days of service. You may
waive the right to compensation, which will help reduce the state's cost of
operating the court system.
