Location of Courthouse and Directions: The Union County Courthouse is
located at 300 North Pine Ste 6, Creston,
IA 50801. Court is held on the top floor
of the building.
From
Highway 34 East or West turn North on Elm
Street to Adams Street. Turn East on Adams for 2 blocks to Maple Street. Turn North on Maple Street for 4
blocks to Howard Street.
Turn East on Howard Street
to Pine Street
(1 block). The Courthouse is located on the South side of this block.
From
Highway 25 from the North when entering Creston continue on Hwy 25 to Adams Street. Turn
East on Adams Street
and continue East to Maple. At Maple
Street turn north and continue north for 4 blocks
to Howard Street.
At Howard Street
turn east to Pine Street
(1 block). Turn South on Pine
Street. The Courthouse is located on the south
side of this block.
Courthouse hours: The courthouse is open from 8:00 AM -
4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Where to park:
Parking is available on the street around the Courthouse (no parking
fees).
Courthouse security information: No knives, guns or sharp instruments

for jury service: Please
check in at the Clerk of Court's Office on the upper level of the courthouse.
What to wear to court:
Please report for jury service wearing respectable clothes. As a general
rule, business or business casual clothing is acceptable. The following types
of clothing are not suitable for court proceedings: shorts, tube tops, halter tops, clothing that
contains any obscene, suggestive or inflammatory print or images, and clothes
that are overly dirty or ragged.
Absences/Emergencies: Please make all requests for excuse in
writing as soon as possible. For emergencies please call 1-641- 782-7315.
Travel, mileage and other
expenses: Reimbursement will be paid at the end
of your service. Jurors are reimbursed for travel to and from residence to the
courthouse at a rate approved by the supreme court. For specific questions,
please call 1-515-961-1033.
Compensation:
Pursuant to state law, you will be paid $30 a day for each day of jury
service up to seven days; $50 a day for eight or more days of service. You may
waive the right to compensation, which will help reduce the state's cost of
operating the court system.
