This booklet contains lots of useful information about how to protect yourself from domestic violence.  It outlines the legal requirements for securing a domestic abuse protective order from the court.  The booklet also includes advice about preparing a safety plan.  You'll find instructions on how to file a court action for a protective order and how to represent yourself in court.  At the end of the booklet are two directories:  a directory of domestic violence programs and a directory of legal aid offices located throughout Iowa.
