Discovery Subcommittee
The Discovery Subcommittee is studying the effectiveness of current discovery mechanisms and considering the extent to which they are contributing to inefficiencies, delays, and rising costs of litigation in the Iowa Court System. This subcommittee will explore possible changes to the rules of discovery, such as requiring automatic exchange of certain information, limitations on electronic discovery, requiring discovery to be proportionate to the size of the case, and increased judicial involvement in the discovery process.
