Iowa Court
of Appeals to Hear Arguments in Spirit Lake
Des
Moines, April 18, 2012 —On
Wednesday, May 2, the Iowa Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in Spirit Lake. The
oral arguments will begin at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm in the Dickinson County
Courthouse, 1802 Hill Ave Spirit Lake. The oral arguments will be in the
community room on the ground floor of the courthouse. The court of appeals
will hear six cases from Black Hawk, Buena Vista, Floyd, Ida, and Pottawattamie
counties.
The court of
appeals regularly hears oral arguments in the Judicial Branch Building in Des
Moines. Oral arguments are always open to the public.
The Iowa
Court of Appeals is composed of nine judges, each appointed by the governor
from a slate of three nominees selected by the state judicial nominating
commission. Court members are: Chief Judge Larry Eisenhauer, and
Judges Gayle Nelson Vogel, Anuradha Vaitheswaran, Amanda Potterfield,
Richard Doyle, David Danilson, Mary Tabor, Michael
Mullins, and Thomas Bower.
