COURT
OF APPEALS JUDGES TO HEAR ARGUMENTS IN OKOBOJI
Des
Moines, May 17, 2012 — On Friday, June 1, the Iowa Court
of Appeals will hear arguments in two cases as part of the 89th annual Lawyers'
Chautauqua at the Arrowwood Resort and Conference
Center, 1405 Highway 71, Okoboji. From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. a panel of
Court of Appeals judges will consider the Floyd County case Vorhes
Ltd. v. Staudt, concerning Floyd County Drainage
District No. 2, and the Black Hawk County case Nie
v. Sartori Memorial Hospital, concerning
sanctions in a medical malpractice action. The Lawyers' Chautauqua is an
annual continuing legal education event sponsored by Judicial District 3A and
hosted this year by the Emmet and Palo Alto County Bar Associations. The
oral arguments are open to the public.
