The justices of the Iowa Supreme Court, former colleagues, and friends remember former Iowa Supreme Court Justice Charles Wolle. Justice Wolle served on the Iowa Supreme Court from 1983 until he was appointed United States District Judge for the Southern District of Iowa on August 6, 1987. Chief Justice Susan Christensen has appointed District Court Judge Adria Kester, Ogden, as chief judge of the Second Judicial District. Judge Kester succeeds Chief Judge James M. Drew who will retire February 9, 2023. Judge Kester will begin the position of chief judge February 10, 2023.
Nominating petitions are now available for individuals who wish to have their names listed on the ballot to fill state judicial nominating commissioner positions with terms that will expire on June 30, 2023.

On Friday, November 18, at 3:00 p.m., Iowa Supreme Court Chief Justice Susan Christensen will administer the oath of office to Iowa Supreme Court Justice David May in a public ceremony in the supreme court courtroom in the Judicial Branch Building, 1111 E. Court Ave., Des Moines. Justice May, Polk City, fills the vacancy that resulted from the retirement of Justice Brent Appel.
Electronic Search Warrants with Judge James Malloy and Deputy Seth McCrea
On Monday, October 24, Tuesday, October 25, and Wednesday, October 26, justices of the Iowa Supreme Court will meet with students from eight Denison area high schools to discuss the Iowa judicial system and the role of the courts in Iowa.
On Tuesday, October 25, the Iowa Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Denison, Iowa. The proceeding will take place in the Donna Reed Theater, 1305 Broadway. The oral arguments are open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m.
