Chief Justice Christensen has signed an order approving amendments to Division III of the Iowa Court Rules that the Office of Professional Regulation has proposed.

Chief Justice Christensen has signed an order expediting the amendments to rules 6.901(4) and 6.901(5) of the Iowa Rules of Appellate Procedure to make the amendments effective immediately.

Nominating petitions are now available for individuals who wish to have their name listed on the ballot to fill District Judicial Nominating Commissioner positions with terms that will expire on January 31, 2030.

Chief Justice Christensen has signed an order approving amendments to chapter 46 of the Iowa Court Rules, which add “certified verbatim reporter” to the definition of “certified shorthand reporter.

The Iowa Supreme Court has selected District Judge Rustin Davenport, Mason City, District Judge David Odekirk, Waterloo, and Senior Judge Michael Schilling, Burlington, as Iowa Business Specialty Court judges. They will join current business court District Judges Jeffery Bert, Sarah Crane, Lawrence McLellan, David Nelmark, and John Telleen as Iowa Business Specialty Court judges.

On Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., Governor Kim Reynolds will administer the ceremonial oath of office to Iowa Court of Appeals Judge Samuel P. Langholz during a public investiture in the Iowa Judicial Branch Building.
