How do I ask the court for help?

To ask the court for help, prepare a “Petition for Relief from Elder Abuse” and file it with the Iowa District Court.

• This Petition is free on the Iowa Judicial Branch website at (https://www.iowacourts.gov/for-the-public/courtforms/).This Petition is also available and free from the clerk of court office at the county courthouse.

• If you cannot file electronically, you may go to your county courthouse for help with filing your Petition.
