Summary

This position is open ONLY to current District 1 employees of the Judicial Branch.  Candidates in other agencies are not eligible to apply. 

Juvenile Court Supervisor with the Iowa Judicial Branch in the First Judicial District in Waterloo, IA.  Starting annual salary $67,246.40, Bi-weekly $ 2,586.40 plus State of Iowa Benefit Package.  Successful internal applicant receives a 4.5% pay increase for 1-2 pay grade increase;  9% increase for 3 or more pay grade increase above their current pay grade; or the minimum of a pay grade 38, whichever is greater.   Travel throughout the district is required.  This position administers Juvenile Court Services to all 11 counties in District 1.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Chief Juvenile Court Officer and within the administrative area as assigned, the Juvenile Court Services (JCS) Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and effective administration of Juvenile Court operations. The JCS Supervisor is a supervisory position in one of the eight judicial branch JCS districts within the State of Iowa; providing oversight for Juvenile Court Officers I, II, III, Specialist, and others as assigned. The JCS Supervisor has established advanced competencies and proficiencies in the duties and skills of the JCOs, and may be routinely tasked with being a subject matter expert on a variety practices and initiatives.   

Requirements

A Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in law, criminal justice, criminology, psychology, sociology, education, or related social sciences, and at least six (6) years experience as a Juvenile Court Officer or comparable experience in a juvenile or criminal justice or related setting.  Must possess a valid drivers license.
