The Second District Juvenile Court Office of the Judicial Branch has an exciting opportunity as a Juvenile Court Specialist 1 in our Mason City office. This position is under the leadership of the Juvenile Court Officer IV and the Juvenile Court Administrative Assistant.
Extensive data entry and word processing duties.
Responds to visitors and answers the telephone.
Follows appropriate processes for use of the Electronic Data Management System (EDMS).
Records and updates information in Case Management; follows appropriate processes for use of Case Management.
Prepares or drafts correspondence or other related documents.
Assists JCO in gathering information.
Open, organize and distribute the mail.
Proficient in Word, Excel.
Graduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, legal assistant, social work, sociology, psychology, criminology, education or related program.
Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of experience involving customer service.
At the discretion of the hiring manager additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education. Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of professional experience. Education cannot substitute customer service experience.
Valid drivers license.
Candidates must pass a preemployment criminal background check.
