This position is open ONLY for employees of the First Judicial District of the Judicial Branch. Candidates in any other branch or agency are not eligible to apply.
$53,580.80 - $83,075.20 annually
Eligible for State of Iowa benefits
To serve as the official court reporter for District Court Judge Laura Parrish in Decorah, IA. Travel to other counties within the district is required.
Takes court testimony and proceedings by shorthand reporting methods. Reads back court testimony and proceedings upon request. Makes verbatim typed record of testimony and proceedings as required. Marks and records exhibits during court proceedings. Prepares transcripts, performs general office work and provides substantial clerical support for the court. Performs related work as determined by the supervising judicial officer, the Chief Judge or his or her designee.
Graduation from an accredited high school (GED); graduation from a school of court reporting required, with courses including legal and medical terminology, English, typing and law. Must be certified as a court reporter by the Iowa Board of Shorthand Reporters.
