Position Summary
This position is open ONLY for employees of the Judicial Branch. Candidates in any other branch or agency are not eligible to apply.
Trial Court Supervisor 2 position supervises 5 to 10 employees and will be working with the counties of Jefferson, Monroe, Van Buren, Wapello and Washington Clerk of Court offices.
Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the Clerk of Court. Applicants must possess knowledge of modern procedures and practices related to the supervision and control of complex filing and court processing systems. Knowledge of court procedures, rules, policies, legal documents, statues and legal factors pertaining to the court. Knowledge of basic principles of supervision and the ability to supervise the work of subordinate employees. Knowledge of basic accounting and budgeting. Ability to communicate effectively with others, to interact positively with the public, judicial officers, and court personnel.
Requirements
Graduation from an accredited high school (GED) and six years of experience in business management, government, legal, or other closely-related area, two years of which is in an administrative or clerical capacity with a court preferred.
OR
At the option of the appointing authority the successful completion of post high school coursework at an accredited vocational / technical business college, area community college or other two-year or four-year educational institution may be substituted for the required experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty semester hours or the academic equivalent equals one year of experience.
OR
At the option of the appointing authority one year of responsible experience in accounting, accounts examination or verification, budgeting or closely-related fiscal experience with a governmental agency or in the private sector may be substituted for each year (thirty semester hours or the academic equivalent) of the minimum education requirements.
AND
Must be bondable. The appointing authority may require a valid Iowa driver’s license if automobile travel is required in performing the duties of the position.
