State of Iowa
Kourtney Shontez Hall

Defendant appealed from the district court judgment and sentence entered on his convictions of two counts of obstructing prosecution and two counts of suborning perjury. See Iowa Code §§ 719.3, 720.3 (2019). He contended the court erred: (1) in denying his motion for judgment of acquittal on grounds the evidence was insufficient to support the convictions; (2) in allowing the jury to view, rather than merely listen to, video evidence of a conversation that showed defendant while incarcerated; (3) in allowing evidence of irrelevant and prejudicial statements made by defendant; and (4) in overruling defendant’s motion for new trial. The court of appeals affirmed. Defendant seeks further review.

Appeal from the Iowa District Court for Polk County, Robert B. Hanson, Judge.  AFFIRMED.  Considered by Vaitheswaran, P.J., and Greer and Schumacher, JJ.  Opinion by Vaitheswaran, P.J.  (10 pages)

Kourtney Hall appeals his judgment and sentence for two counts of suborning perjury and two counts of obstructing prosecution.
