Judge Polking was appointed to the bench in 2019. He earned his undergraduate degree from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts in 1994, and his law degree from the University of Minnesota in 2001. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Polking was in private practice and also served as a Magistrate Judge for Carroll County. He is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association and the Carroll County Bar Association.
