Judge Austin was appointed was appointed as a District Associate Judge in November 2022. She received her undergraduate degree from Iowa State University, and her law degree from Michigan State University College of Law. Prior to her appointment, Judge Austin worked as an Assistant County Attorney in Marshall County.
