Magistrate, Abby Walleck, was appointed in Clay County in February of 2023. She earned her undergraduate degree from Creighton University in 2001 and her law degree from Creighton University School of Law in 2003.Magistrate Walleck is a partner in the Maahs & Walleck law firm where she has a mostly transactional practice and is a trained mediator and arbitrator. She has served on many non-profit boards in the Iowa Great Lakes area, assists with mock trial for junior high and high school students at Okoboji, and is a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Iowa Magistrate Association, and Northwest Iowa Collaborative Law Professionals. Magistrate Walleck is married with two children.
