Judge Brooks was appointed District Associate Judge in October 2023. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2010 and his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law in 2014. Judge Brooks serves as a Judge Advocate General for the Army National Guard. Prior to his appointment, He was in private practice and served as an assistant public defender at the Office of the Iowa State Public Defender.
