Judge Hooper was appointed to the bench in January 2019. Prior to being appointed to the bench, Judge Hooper was the Cass County attorney. In private practice, he worked primarily as a criminal defense attorney. He graduated with a BA in Sociology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and received his J.D. from Creighton School of Law. He is a member of the Iowa Bar Association and the 4th Bar Association.
