
Senior Judge McGhee was appointed as a District Associate Judge in February 2002. He received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell College in 1974 and his Juris Doctorate from Drake University Law School in 1977. Judge McGhee has worked as the Program Planner for the Iowa Commission of the Aging, Administrative Hearing Officer with the Iowa Department of Environmental Quality, and most recently in the Polk County Attorney’s Office. Judge McGhee is a member of the Iowa State Bar Association, Polk County Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the National Association of District Attorneys, and the National Association of Prosecutors. He is a Commissioner on the Iowa Supreme Court’s Continuing Legal Education Commission and an officer of the National Association of Prosecutors (NAP).
