Informal Family Law Trial Program

Informal Family Law Trial Program

Who can participate?

When both parties are self-represented (without an attorney), they are required to participate.

What types of family law cases are eligible?

Family law cases including divorces with or without children, legal separations, paternity (unmarried parent) cases, and modifications for child custody, visitation, and child support.

How does the program work?

The informal family law program is a streamlined option for cases where both parties do not have an attorney. Once service is completed and an answer is filed the case is scheduled on a court service day for a settlement conference/trial by court order.  A maximum of one hour is allotted.  If additional time is needed the case will be referred to a case coordinator for a trial setting conference.
