Acting Chief Justice Wiggins has signed an order rescinding the proposed guardianship and conservatorship court rules and forms accompanying supreme court orders entered on August 20, 2019, and October 9, 2019 and adopting new proposed court rules and forms. The forms are temporarily adopted effective immediately and will permanently take affect subject to Legislative Council review consistent with the provisions of Iowa Code section 602.4202. All 2014 Iowa Court Rule 7.11 forms will be removed effective January 1, 2020.

Acting Chief Justice Wiggins has signed a supervisory order extending the deadline for initial plans and annual reports for guardianships and conservatorships established prior to January 1, 2020. Initial plans and annual reports will be due in accordance with previously scheduled deadlines. The supervisory order also extends existing guardianship and conservatorship powers through the deadline for the filing of the annual report.

The amendments modify the ethics requirements from January 1, 2021 onward.
