Case No. 17-0851

In the Interest of A.S., Minor Child

The guardian ad litem and State are seeking further review after the court of appeals reversed and remanded with directions the termination of the mother’s parental rights. The court of appeals determined that under the unique facts of the case, a guardianship should have been created rather than terminating the mother’s parental rights. The dissenting opinion would have affirmed the termination of parental rights, finding that termination is in the best interests of the child.
