Case No. 18-0305

State of Iowa
v.
Keegan Craig Smith

: Keegan Smith appeals his conviction and sentence for operating while intoxicated, first offense. He contends (1) the district court erred in finding he did not properly request an independent chemical test under Iowa Code section 321J.11, and (2) an officer must take affirmative steps to offer an arrestee an opportunity to secure independent testing once the person invokes that right and submits to the state administered test.
