Case No. 18-0564

State of Iowa
v.
Lamar Cheyeene Wilson

Lamar Wilson appeals from his convictions and sentences for voluntary manslaughter, two counts of assault with intent to cause serious injury, and one count of intimidation with a dangerous weapon. He contends the trial court committed error when it failed to grant him a pretrial hearing on the question of his immunity from prosecution due to his use of self-defense pursuant to Iowa Code section 704.13, and erred in its post-trial determination he was not justified in his use of force and therefore not immune from criminal liability. Wilson further argues the evidence was insufficient to support a verdict he was not justified in using force.
