Case No. 18-1947

State of Iowa
v.
Richard Wayne Leedom

Richard Leedom was convicted of two counts of second-degree sexual abuse and one count of indecent contact with a child following a jury trial. On appeal, Leedom argues: (1) the trial court erred in denying his motion to release the victim’s privileged records, (2) the trial court erred in excluding testimony related to his theory of defense, (3) the prosecutor committed misconduct, (4) the trial court erred by preventing Leedom from calling the prosecutor at the hearing on the motion for new trial, (5) the trial court erred in excluding three jurors over Leedom’s objection, and (6) the cumulative effect of these errors violated his rights to a fair trial and to due process.
