The Iowa Department of Corrections, Iowa Department of Administrative Services, and Patti Wachtendorf appeal from a jury verdict entered in favor of plaintiff Jesse Vroegh on his claims of sex and gender identify discrimination in employment under the Iowa Civil Rights Act. Plaintiff Vroegh cross-appeals from the summary judgment ruling dismissing his discrimination claims against Wellmark, Inc., the third-party administrator of the State’s employer-provided healthcare benefits plan.
