Case No. 20-1429

Domenico Calcaterra
v.
Iowa Board of Medicine

The Iowa Board of Medicine, respondent in a judicial review action challenging a Declaratory Order issued by the Board concerning Iowa Code section 272C.6(4)(a) (2019), appeals from a district court ruling finding the Board had erred in its interpretation of the statute. The Board contends it properly answered “no” to the question posed by petitioner’s request for Declaratory Order: “Does Iowa Code section 272C.6(4)(a) prohibit the Board from publicly issuing/publishing statements of charges and issuing/publishing press releases which contain investigation information?”
