Case No. 20-1571

State of Iowa
v.
Timothy Michael Basquin

Timothy Basquin appeals his conviction for possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, a class C felony, following an Alford plea. The district court accepted Basquin’s written plea without personally addressing him pursuant to the supreme court’s 2020 supervisory orders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Basquin argues the supervisory orders violate due process, separation of powers, and this court’s own precedent.
