Case No. 21-0144

State of Iowa
v.
Peter Leroy Veal

Following a remand ordered in State v. Veal, 930 N.W.2d 319 (Iowa 2019), Peter Veal appeals from the district court order denying his claim that his jury was not drawn from a fair cross section of the community in violation of the Sixth Amendment. Veal contends the mandatory exclusion of felons from jury service and failures in jury management practices resulted in the systematic exclusion and underrepresentation of both African-Americans and Hispanics.
