Case No. 22-0288

Estate of Bisignano

Exile Brewing Company, LLC—an interested party in the underlying proceedings—appeals from the probate court’s ruling on its motion to vacate, dismiss, and close the proceedings. Exile argues the probate court erred in holding that a “potential showing of new property” or “potential proceeds” provide a jurisdictional basis for reopening these estates under Iowa Code section 633.489. Exile further argues the probate court erred in holding that Fred Huntsman—the nephew of Frank J. Bisignano—has standing to file a petition to reopen the estates, and erred in denying Exile’s motion to intervene. The Estates of Ruth C. Bisignano and Frank J. Bisignano cross appeal the denial of their requests for attorneys’ fees.
