Case No. 23-1115

Jeffrey Peterzalek and Molly Weber
v.
Iowa District Court for Polk County

An assistant attorney general and former assistant attorney general were granted certiorari review of an order denying their motion to quash two subpoenas seeking their deposition testimony in an action against the Iowa Department of Public Safety for employment discrimination. They contend the subpoenas should have been quashed because the plaintiff in the discrimination suit failed to demonstrate their deposition was likely to produce relevant, non-privileged information crucial to the preparation of plaintiff’s case which plaintiff could not obtain from another source.
