Case No. 17-1989

State of Iowa
v.
Antoine Tyree Williams

Antoine Williams appeals from his conviction for second-degree murder. Williams claims he was denied his right to an impartial jury under the U.S. and Iowa Constitutions. He further argues the district court erred in denying his request to individually voir dire the jury pool on race-related issues, erred in excluding evidence of the victim’s prior acts of violence, erred in refusing to give a jury instruction on implicit bias, and erred in ruling the “stand your ground” law did not apply to his case.
