Case No. 20-0187

The Iowa Supreme Court continues to carefully monitor the COVID-19 pandemic, balancing the need to take measures to reduce the spread of the virus with its commitment to conducting business as necessary.  Accordingly, justices and attorneys will conduct November's oral arguments by video conference. As usual, the oral arguments will be live streamed on the Iowa Courts YouTube channel.

Iowa Supreme Court Attorney Disciplinary Board
v.
David Ebong Akpan

The respondent contends the Grievance Commission erred in (1) finding respondent violated the Texas Rules of Professional Conduct, and (2) permitting video-testimony by the complaining witness, and (3) failing to make credibility findings regarding the testimony of the complaining witness. The respondent also argues the commission’s recommendation of a sixty-one-day suspension is excessive.
