Case No. 20-1647

State of Iowa
v.
Erica Lyne West Vangen

Erica West Vangen appeals her conviction, judgment and sentence for fourth-degree criminal mischief, a serious misdemeanor, following a jury trial. She argues: (1) the evidence was insufficient to support her conviction as either a principal or as an aider and abettor; (2) the district court erred in assessing category B restitution without considering her reasonable ability to pay; and (3) during sentencing, the district court improperly considered her exercise of her constitutional right to demand a jury trial in imposing sentence.
