Respondent appeals from a district court order affirming a magistrate’s decision continuing his commitment for mental health treatment. He argues the district court erred: (1) in denying his motion to represent himself in the district court proceedings; and (2) in finding he had committed a recent overt act sufficient to support the dangerousness element for civil commitment.
