Case No. 23-0480

State of Iowa
v.
Artell Jamario Young

Following a jury trial, defendant appeals from the judgment and sentences entered on his convictions of possession of crack cocaine (second offense), possession of cocaine (second offense), and possession of marijuana (second offense). Iowa Code § 124.401(5)(2023). Defendant contends the district court erred in denying his motion to suppress evidence obtained from a warrantless search of his home by federal probation officers. He argues the search was not justified under the “special needs” exception to the warrant requirement and violated his rights under Article I, section 8 of the Iowa Constitution.
