Case No. 23-0661

Linn County Auditor Joel Miller
v.
Iowa Voter Registration Commission

Linn County Auditor Joel Miller appeals from the district court’s order denying his petition for judicial review of a decision of the Iowa Voter Registration Commission (“VRC”). He argues the court erred by finding he lacked standing. Specifically, he argues the court erred because: (1) the VRC was required to hold an evidentiary hearing regarding his complaint; (2) He was injured by the VRC’s dismissal of his complaint; and (3) As the county official in charge of maintaining voter rolls and overseeing local election processes he had a particularized interest in the security of the voting register satisfying the traditional standing requirements for judicial review.
