The Marshall County Clerk of Court Office is temporarily relocated effective Tuesday, July 24, 2018, until the courthouse reopens.  

After completing public interviews of all 21 applicants, the State Judicial Nominating Commission has selected a slate of three nominees to fill the vacancy on the Iowa Supreme Court that will occur when Justice Bruce Zager retires September 3, 2018.

Today is the last day of the 2017-18 Iowa Supreme Court adjudicative term.  During the term, 109 cases were submitted to the court. The court decided 106 cases by majority written opinions and held over three cases for resubmission. 

Today, the State of Iowa Judicial Nominating Commission posted the interview schedule for the twenty-two Iowans who applied with the commission to fill the vacancy on the Iowa Supreme Court that will occur when Justice Bruce Zager retires September 3, 2018.

This certification of the most recent one-year treasury constant maturity index published by the Federal Reserve in the H15 Report is distributed to the courts in conformance with Iowa Code Section 668.13(3) (2017).

The Iowa Court of Appeals will hear oral arguments in two cases at the Chautauqua conference in Arrowwood Resort and Conference Center, 1405 Highway 71, Okoboji, May 31, 2018, at 1:00 p.m.  The oral arguments are open to the public and the court encourages people to attend.

The State Judicial Nominating Commission, which is responsible for selecting nominees for appointment to the Iowa Supreme Court, announced today it will begin accepting applications for the vacancy that will occur when Justice Bruce B. Zager retires September 3, 2018. The Commission has sixty days to send a slate of nominees to the Governor, who makes appointments to the court.  

The Iowa Supreme Court has approved $254,818 in grants to non-profit programs that provide legal assistance to low-income Iowans with civil legal problems. The court awarded grants to twelve different organizations throughout Iowa. The grants are funded by the Interest on Lawyers' Trust Account (IOLTA) program. With this year's grants, the supreme court has awarded more than $24.8 million in IOLTA grants since the program began on July 1, 1985.
